DATE OF THE EVENT: from 25 to 27 OCTOBER, 2023
JUSTIFICATION
On September 22 and 23, 2016, the inaugural Polish-Colombian International Symposium took place in Warsaw, Poland. The primary objective of the symposium was to address development-related issues and explore potential solutions. Following its success, the second edition of this event was held in the same city in 2018. Three years later, in 2021, the third edition was organized. Presently, in 2023, the symposium is once again being held, contributing to the field of development studies. Understanding current development trends is crucial, considering that the discourse of the majority of governments primarily focuses on growth rather than holistic development.
GOALS
- To explore, both theoretically and practically, the challenges associated with sustainable development in rural and urban areas, including the issues, processes, and prospects involved in this field.
- To examine the crisis of the environmental paradigm within the global context.
- To critically reflect on the concepts of development and sustainability, as well as emerging proposals, within the context of modernity.
SYMPOSIUM FRAMEWORK
- The symposium will span over a period of 3 days dedicated to paper presentations. From all the papers presented, the most representative ones will be selected to create a compilation for publication in a book.
- Guidelines for paper presentations: Only submissions in Spanish and English will be accepted. Papers should not exceed ten letter-size pages while maintaining the quality expected of a scientific text.
- All participants who confirm their attendance in advance and remain present throughout the entire three-day event will receive a certificate of attendance.
- The registration fee for the symposium is 200 PLN, which is payable after the acceptance of the abstract. The payment should be made to the account of the University of Warsaw, and the account details will be provided at a later stage.
DATES OF WORKS RECEIPT
- The deadline for abstract submission is August 20, 2023. The abstract should not exceed 250 characters.
- Please submit the full text of your presentation by September 18.
- The Organizing Scientific Committee will review both the abstract and the presentation, and acceptance letters will be sent out on September 22.
- A scientific monograph featuring the presented and positively evaluated papers will be published in English. There will be an additional fee of 400 PLN for each chapter for those interested in the publication.
If you wish to have your work included in the publication, please ensure that you send the complete texts by October 20, 2023.
